A major security company that monitors customer security systems all over the world needed a way to add large banks of modems to its central monitoring station servers. Intrusion detection and access control systems at customer sites dial-in to the security company’s central monitoring stations. With hundreds of thousands of customer sites, an extremely large modem bank is needed in order to receive intrusion alerts and update security access levels and enrollment for all customer sites. The security company was looking for a way to increase modem port density, without adding more servers to its central monitoring station.

Using Dig’s AccelePort C/X asynchronous serial cards and C/CON concentrators, the security company was able to install 256 modems per existing server. The solution was easy to install and configure, even in such a large-scale implementation. Key benefits:

  • Easy installation of large amount of modems using limited number of servers
  • High availability of connections for mission-critical intrusion detection alarming and response
  • Scalable system enables future system expansion – just add more concentrators

The AccelePort C/X and C/CON concentrators enabled this security monitoring company to increase is modem port density without the expense of adding servers.

Now you can...

Achieve high density modem banking with a limited number of servers.
