El ConnectPort WAN VPN es un ruteador móvil 3G resistente y ampliable que brinda conectividad inalámbrica de alta velocidad a sucursales y dispositivos remotos. Se puede utilizar para la conectividad primaria por banda ancha a redes inalámbricas de equipos en sucursales remotas, así como para la conectividad de reserva de las comunicaciones tradicionales existentes. Entre las aplicaciones se cuentan los servicios públicos, la automatización industrial, puntos de venta/retail, financieras (cajeros automáticos), tráfico, médicas y vigilancia por vídeo, entre otras.
Con una plataforma de red inalámbrica ampliable, los clientes pueden migrar rápidamente a plataformas 3G futuras y posteriores con las ranuras para tarjeta PCMCIA tipo 2 o los módulos PCI Express. También dispone de dos puertos serie RS-232 para conectar dispositivos COM anteriores y un switch Ethernet 10/100 incorporado de cuatro puertos para conectar más dispositivos de red TCP/IP.
Con Digi Connectware® Manager, un software de administración de dispositivos remotos para empresas, los usuarios pueden ver, configurar y supervisar fácilmente uno solo o miles de dispositivos remotos. También pueden recibir avisos por email, integrarse con un servidor DNS o conectarse a su software de administración de red.
Para aplicaciones que precisan conexiones seguras, ConnectPort WAN VPN brinda un cliente/servidor VPN IPsec integrado para garantizar la protección de los datos en todo momento.
