El servidor de dispositivos Digi One SP IA permite conectar fácilmente cualquier dispositivo industrial con un puerto serie a una red Ethernet. Este servidor de dispositivos compacto lleva un puerto serie RS- 232/422/485 DB-9, entrada de voltaje de 9-30 V CC y kit para montaje en riel DIN, por lo que resulta óptimo para muchas aplicaciones de automatización industrial.

El Digi One SP IA es compatible con la mayoría de protocolos de automatización industrial mediante serie tunneling, conexiones TCP/UDP o el software RealPort® patentado por Digi. La tecnología RealPort posibilita el establecimiento de una conexión entre el servidor y el dispositivo serie en red al crear un puerto COM o TTY local en el computador central, de modo que las aplicaciones de software existentes funcionen sin necesidad de modificaciones.
