Long-range ZigBee Certified Module Receives Japanese Approval
LINDON, Utah (February 8, 2007) – The ZigBee® Certified XBee-PRO™ OEM RF module from MaxStream®, a Digi International® brand, has received approval for use in Japan. The Japanese version of the XBee-PRO comes with unique firmware that limits output power to the maximum allowable power density for Japan of 10mW/MHz in the 2.4 GHz band.
“As worldwide adoption of the XBee product line continues to accelerate, we are pleased to offer a ZigBee Certified solution that will give added range and reliability in critical applications,” said Larry Kraft, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Digi International. “Demand in Japan for the XBee product line has been high and the flexibility of the XBee and XBee-PRO modules makes it easy for custom wireless networks to be created with ease.”
The Japanese version of the XBee-PRO will continue to be pin and network compatible with existing XBee and XBee-PRO modules so a single design can be developed for global deployment. Operating at 2.4 GHz, the XBee product line is approved for use worldwide and compatible with 802.15.4 and ZigBee specifications.
XBee development kits start $129 USD and provide the easiest and most-cost effective way to establish reliable wireless data communications. For more information about the XBee-PRO, visit our XBee-Pro product page or call +1-801-765-9885.
