Digi Launches Low Cost, Enterprise-Class Cellular Router

Digi TransPort WR21 offers 2.5G/3G/4G high-end functionality for the price of a cellular modem

MINNETONKA, Minn. (Oct. 6, 2011) - Digi International (NASDAQ: DGII) today introduced the Digi TransPort® WR21, a low cost, enterprise-class 2.5G/3G/4G cellular router for network back-up and remote device connectivity applications. The compact, flexible router offers feature sets which scale from basic connectivity to high-end routing with advanced functionality such as dynamic routing, security and firewall capabilities and optional two-port Ethernet switch.

Comms365 Limited, a mobile data aggregator and provider of innovative fixed IP 3G  services for M2M applications, uses the Digi TransPort WR21 for 3G connectivity to its customers’ remote devices and for network backup applications. The Digi TransPort WR21 is also ideal for connecting remote devices in energy management, medical, industrial, point-of-sale, kiosk, lottery and financial applications and is available in standard and enterprise-class software versions. The standard router features an RS-232 serial port, one Ethernet port, two SIMs, basic routing, IP Passthrough, IP Filtering, Digi SureLink and Digi RealPort® COM port redirector. Options include a RS232/422/485 serial port, two Ethernet ports, and high-end dynamic routing protocol support with integrated VPN and stateful firewall. 

Qualcomm Gobi 3000 technology is also available providing carrier agility by allowing a single router to operate on multiple 3G/4G HSPA/HSPA+/EVDO carrier networks with fall back all the way to 2G. 

Digi remote management software, including cloud hosted iDigi Manager Pro™, provides easy setup, configuration and maintenance of large installations of remote Digi TransPort devices.
