Digi has identified this new space as Remote Device Management and we now offer a suite of hardware and software solutions that utilize cellular networks. Available in GSM and CDMA models, the Digi Connect WAN family includes:
- Digi Connect® WAN 3G - 3G high speed upgradeable HSDPA/EV-DO Rev. A Wireless WAN cellular router with integrated VPN.
- Digi Connect® WAN - 2.5G Wireless WAN cellular router. Provides TCP/IP data communications via cellular GSM EDGE/CDMA 1xRTT networks to remote sites and devices.
- Digi Connect® WAN VPN - 2.5G Wireless WAN cellular router plus integrated VPN. Creates a secure WAN connection via an Ethernet-to-cellular interface.
- Digi Connect® WAN IA - 2.5G Wireless WAN gateway with all of the features of Digi Connect WAN VPN, plus an industrial-grade feature set.
- Digi Connect® WAN Sync - 2.5G Wireless WAN cellular router with support for legacy synchronous serial devices.
- Digi Connect® WAN GPRS - 2G Wireless WAN cellular router. Provides reliable GPRS wireless TCP/IP data communications via cellular networks. Ideal for M2M applications.
Digi Connect WAN features comparison chart
Digi Connect WAN products provide high-performance wireless communications via GSM (GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA) or CDMA (1xRTT/EV-DO Rev. A) networks for primary and backup connectivity to remote locations. They offer an easy and cost-effective means of connecting virtually any remote location into the corporate IP network. They are ideal for use where wired networks (e.g., lease line/frame relay, CSU/DSU, fractional T1) are not feasible or where alternative network connections are required. Benefits include instant deployment, elimination of wiring costs and problems due to wire breaks, the ability to traverse firewalls, and the ability to move the connection virtually anywhere.
All Digi Connect WAN products seamlessly integrate with Digi Connectware® Manager enterprise software, which provides easy setup, configuration and maintenance of large installations. Users can upgrade firmware or change settings of thousands of devices with only a few clicks, as well as receive status reports for troubleshooting.
