Modules use Peer-to-Peer networking by default

Most Digi radio modems ship from the factory with the simple communication mode enabled which doesn't use acknowledgements or retransmissions. The modules work right out of the box with no configuration. They communicate using peer-to-peer technology instead of requiring individual configuration into master-slave roles.

The peer-to-peer network access is very well suited for use in multi-drop applications using any protocol that has addressing built into the data that is transmitted.

The radio modems also support advanced communications modes with each radio assigned a unique address and the error detection and correction functions being handled at the radio level.
