Installing the dgap driver in Ubuntu Linux for AccelePort C/X, EPC/X, Xr (920) and XEM adapters.

You will want to first unload the epca driver as it will not work:

# sudo rmmod epca

We recommend copying the epca.ko or epca.o module file to something else:

sudo mv /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/char/epca.ko /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/char/epca.ko.blah

The latest source rpm driver candidate supporting the latest kernels is available for download from:

dgap source rpm ftp downlod

To install:

Make a symbolic link the bash shell in place of dash (there are problems using dash):

sudo rm /bin/sh
sudo ln -s /bin/bash /bin/sh

sudo script
sudo rpmbuild --rebuild dgap-1.3-1#.src.rpm
sudo alien -d --scripts /usr/src/rpm/RPMS/(arch)/dgap-1.3-1#.(arch).rpm
sudo dpkg -i dgap_1.3-1#_(arch).deb
exit
sudo mpi

If errors are seen, please send the file called typescript residing in the directory where the script command was issued to: Support Wizards.
