When Your Data Goes Down, Will Your Internet Be Out No More Than Six Days?

Even with 99% uptime businesses will still experience 80+ hours of unplanned downtime per year. Recently, many unfortunate businesses here in the Tampa Bay area had to learn about outages the hard way, going well over 80 hours in just a few days. Hindsight being 20/20, these businesses should consider simple & reliable high-speed backup options for their data needs.
Dr. Henry E. Wiley III, a Tampa dermatologist, said his office has been without Internet since Friday morning, an outage that continued through Wednesday. He said he has a backup system through another provider. But that isnt a perfect workaround, providing a slower connection. And his practice is still unable to bill customers paying by credit card.
The popular Zudar’s sandwich shop downtown was still unable to swipe credit cards or take phone or Internet orders at mid-afternoon. “It’s having a terrible effect on business,” said owner Eric Weinstein. “It’s absolutely an epic failure on their part. An amazing lack of customer service and communication.”
Some people told the Times that Frontier customer service representatives told them their service could be out multiple days. Silverman, the real estate lawyer, said he was told his service would be out "no more than six days."
