A strategic arrival for Opengear's Channel organization in Europe
Paris, May 9, 2023 - Opengear, a provider of secure and intelligent out-of-band management solutions, is structuring its Channel team in France. The Digi International company (NASDAQ, DGII, www.digi.com/) has announced the arrival of Thomas Mercon, a specialist in professional IT distribution, as France Channel Manager. He joins the team led by Romain Pia, Regional Sales Manager EMEA South, and will report directly to Alan Stewart-Brown, VP EMEA, Opengear.
In this role, Thomas Mercon will support Romain Pia with a defined portfolio of channel partners. He will assist Opengear's channel relationships daily and help them to understand and master the different offers available. He will also be overseeing Opengear's network of distributors, resellers and integrators throughout France in line with the current strategy.
Thomas has extensive experience in the French IT distribution ecosystem. He was previously Business Developer at Miel, in charge of promoting the distributor's network and cybersecurity solutions.
"Thomas' knowledge of the integrator and vendor markets in these two key segments is a real asset for Opengear. His knowledge will enable us to further expand our territorial coverage, particularly in certain fast-growing regions," said Romain Pia, Regional Sales Manager EMEA South.
A recruitment with a double challenge in the Opengear Channel organization
This arrival allows Romain Pia to focus on new high potential markets such as Italy, Spain, Israel, and Morocco. He will remain an active support on the French perimeter alongside Thomas to expand Opengear's presence there.
The creation of the position of Channel Manager for France also serves as a pilot for the future organization of the Opengear Channel. "We are delighted to welcome an experienced professional like Thomas to our team. His arrival underlines Opengear's current growth dynamic in the European region," says Alan Stewart-Brown, VP EMEA, Opengear.
Thomas Mercon holds a master’s degree in business engineering from Kedge Business School.
