Etherios Receives Enterprise-Ready Rating from the Skyhigh CloudTrust™ Program

CHICAGO, Sept. 16, 2014 - Etherios, a leader in IoT solutions and a division of Digi International (NASDAQ: DGII), today announced it has been awarded the Skyhigh CloudTrust™ rating of enterprise-ready for Device Cloud by Etherios™, its Internet of Things Platform-as-a-Service offering. Device Cloud's open platform enables companies to easily and cost-effectively connect their assets faster, leaving them to focus on running their business. Skyhigh Enterprise-Ready cloud services fully satisfy the most stringent requirements for data protection, identity verification, service security, business practices, and legal protection.

"We are honored to be awarded the CloudTrust™ enterprise-ready rating," said Larry Jovanovic, Vice President of Cloud Product Management at Etherios. "We take the security of our clients' data very seriously, and it is at the core of everything we do. With Device Cloud, we focus on securing our customers' data so they can focus on gaining maximum value from their IoT solution."

Skyhigh identifies and classifies thousands of cloud services and provides an objective and detailed evaluation of the enterprise-readiness of each cloud service based on a detailed set of criteria developed in conjunction with the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA). The evaluation spans five categories:

  • Data attributes
  • User and device attributes
  • Service attributes
  • Business attributes
  • Legal attributes

"Selecting an enterprise-ready service such as Etherios is critical, but performing product evaluations is expensive and time consuming, especially with the breadth of services available today," said Rajiv Gupta, CEO of Skyhigh Networks. "The Skyhigh CloudTrust Rating™ streamlines the evaluation process by providing an objective and comprehensive evaluation of a service's security controls and enterprise readiness."

"While security is lacking for many cloud services, 7 percent of cloud service providers have invested time and resources in developing services that adhere to rigorous enterprise security requirements. We started the Skyhigh CloudTrust program to highlight these services and ease the cloud adoption lifecycle for CIOs and IT departments," added Gupta.
