Digi International Launches Digi TransPort® WR11 XT LTE Router, Providing Secure Lower Cost Connectivity for Non-Climate Controlled Environments

Hardened Version of WR11 Enterprise LTE Router Expands Deployment Possibilities for Distributed Terminals in Harsh Environments
MINNETONKA, Minn., Dec. 14, 2015 – Digi International®, (NASDAQ: DGII, www.digi.com), a leading global provider of mission-critical machine-to-machine (M2M) and IoT connectivity products and services, today announced the release of the Digi TransPort WR11 XT, a temperature hardened cellular router that provides a secure and reliable LTE connection for industrial and retail applications in harsh environments. The Digi TransPort WR11 XT was developed to expand the use of the highly successful commercial-grade WR11 cellular router into industrial control and remote monitoring applications in outdoor conditions.

The WR11 XT builds upon the capabilities of the WR11 including global cellular carrier certifications, license-free enterprise software, PCI-ready security features, small form factor, dual SIM capabilities, and advanced network management through Digi Remote ManagerSM. The new version features a ruggedized aluminum enclosure and DIN-rail form factor, an increased operating temperature range (-30° C to +70° C), flanges for shelf or wall mounting and a screw-down SIM cover. With the WR11 XT, network engineering and administration teams can extend their network reach while increasing uptime and reducing costs associated with disconnected industrial machines and retail terminals.

“The success of the WR11 combined with our customers’ call for expanded deployment possibilities made the development of a ruggedized version of our value-based cellular router a natural extension of our product line,” said Andrew Lund, product marketing manager at Digi International. “Now, our customers and partners can deliver reliable cellular data networking in these environments at a highly affordable price point.”

The Digi TransPort WR11 XT features Digi’s license-free enterprise routing and security software and is available in four variants. The product is available in two LTE with 3G fallback versions (North America and Europe/Asia), a Verizon single-mode LTE version and a Global HSPA+ version.

The Digi TransPort WR11 XT is available at an MSRP $349 to $399 with an enterprise software license and five-year warranty included. Stock is now available from the following channel partners: Express Systems & Peripherals, Novotech Technologies, and SYNNEX Corporation.
