Red light on edgeport/8s

Hello, I bought a second hand EdgePort /8s that is probably broken. When I attach the device to the computer running Windows XP the host detects the EdgePort but only creates 2 ports and I cannot manage any of these ports using the configuration software. Also, the front led is always red. Is this a driver problem or is the unit broken ? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Sounds like a broken unit. If possible, connect it to another PC to see if the same problem occurs.

I'll send you an e-mail shortly and I'll ask you for the serial number of your unit to check if it's under warranty.
