Can I achieve 60m range with standard Xbee module with whip antenna?

Question

I am looking to get about 60m range outdoors using the Xbee modules. I am currently using the Xbee S1 digimesh product with PCB antenna.

Our product will be battery powered so I am reluctant to move on to the XBee pro. Is it possible to achieve 60m with the standard XBee with a different antenna such as the built in whip antenna option?

Or would I need to move up to the pro to achieve this?

Alex, per page 8 of the manual, if you have RF LOS conditions, you can get up to 300 ft. (100 m)

Thanks for replying. With which antenna is the XBee module using to get these figures though? A wire whip or PCB? Surely this will effect the result?

I carried out a test, not with RF LOS, but with visual LOS (I know these are not the same) and only achieved 30m. I did not think the effect would be so profound.
