3g connection loss

0 votes
Hi,
We have two customers using a total of 3 Digi WAN 3G wich are in the field since a few years.
Recently they are suffering of increasing connection loss, mainly during the weekends.
After a power cyle the units are working again.

Does anybody have any suggestion how to trace the problem?

Best regards,

Bruno

The logs following an outage might reveal more:

Additionally, implementing Surelink might help to recover the connection rather than rebooting the router manually:

Hi thank you for the suggestions.
Now I have the unit here and updated the firmware
The problem is that afte a few hours:
- There are plenty of connection
- The cpu is on 100%
- The web frontend does not answer any more
After a reboot it works normally.

Here the conections:
Code:
#> who ID From To Protocol Sessions -- --------------------- --------------------- -------------------- -------- 1 138.188.39.219 138.188.39.220 ppp [connected] 2 85.4.60.210 serial 1 realport 3 188.27.226.159 local shell telnet 4 195.66.123.94 realport server realport 5 46.161.40.23 local shell telnet 6 221.167.67.246 local shell telnet 7 14.167.73.220 local shell telnet 8 88.248.3.232 local shell telnet 9 85.106.6.196 local shell telnet 10 218.86.156.154 local shell telnet 11 151.75.199.176 local shell telnet 12 134.196.125.6 local shell telnet 13 186.15.152.160 local shell telnet 14 186.15.152.160 local shell telnet 15 85.4.60.210 realport server realport 16 85.4.60.210 local host ssh 17 197.225.31.52 local shell telnet 18 85.4.60.210 local host ssh 19 85.4.60.210 local shell ssh 20 85.4.60.210 local shell ssh
85.4.60.210 and 195.66.123.94 the normal users

And here the device information:

I wonder if the hardware is defective.

Do you happen to have another similar model unit that you can install at the same location and apply the same configuration to (by backing it up from the problematic unit and restoring it to the other unit), to see if the problem still happens?
