I am using raspb pie b+ connected with xbee as coordinator and I want to receive data from 2 xbees as routers with sensors attached to them, when sensors detect something. Any advice can be useful I am really confused as a newbie...

You probably should start by writing your application as though the radio don't even exist. That is connect one sensor to the processor and see if you can get data from it.
