[CC6UL]: launching recovery partition

0 votes
Hi,

I'm trying to launch the 'recovery' partition on the CC6UL. I've updated it already with my own
image.

To boot in 'recovery' i'm first starting in u-boot and then running the recoverycmd
(setenv mtdbootpart recovery;boot).

However during boot i always get the following error:

Error opening /dev/fb0: No such file or directory
[RECOVERY] Starting recovery...
[RECOVERY] [ERROR] No command found
[RECOVERY] The system will now reboot in 10 seconds

and it reboots with the 'linux' partition...

Any ideas?

Thanks

Are you able to launch recovery using stock images?

Hi,

I've done like you suggest. Just to be sure i've flashed the complete set of images (u-boot, linux, recovery and rootfs) provided by DIGI, that i got from ftp://ftp1.digi.com/support/digiembeddedyocto/2.2/r2/images/ccimx6ulstarter-installer.zip

When i try to launch from the recovery partition it still fails with the same error. Btw, is it possible to check from which partition i've launched once the partition is running (i.e. without looking at the log)?

Unfortunately i cannot attach the boot log due to the 8000 characters limit on the forum. If you want i would be happy to send you the boot log through other means.

Thanks again.
what exactly are you trying to do? What do you mean by "When i try to launch from the recovery partition"? are you doing firmware update?
firmware update from Linux is using recovery and is described here:
https://www.digi.com/resources/documentation/digidocs/90001548/#task/yocto/t_prog_fw_from_linux.htm
or recovery reboot described here?
