Are the XBee sx 900 and XBee s2c pin compatible?

I have an existing design using the XBee s2c and would like to reuse it with the SB sx 900 radios for a longer range application. Can I replace the radios without changing the rest of the hardware?

Arees,
If you are using the basic UART functions and the surface mount version of the S2C, then yes you can.
