how to run a connectport x2 from 24v

I need to run several ConnectPort X2 devices in 24VDC vehicular applications and would like to know if anyone has done this before and could recommend a 24VDC to 12VDC converter and or offer any advice on caution areas and pitfalls. Also the locking bullet connector for the DC in is unusual - anyone know how to purchase this?

Before you go about this, I would suggest you contact Digi Support to make sure that this device will support 12V. Some of the X2 devices support 5V only.
