How to extend Xbee S1 antenna to 30 cm?

I need to extend XBee S1 antenna about 30 cm so I can place it outside its package. I do this because the package is metal and emerge Faraday Cage effect which is worsening the signal reception. Any ideas?

use the U.FL version of the radio and then use a pig tail antenna.
