change internet access from cellular to port 1

0 votes
I currently have a Digi Cellular WR31 installed which was previously configured to provide remote access to a system subnet through a cellular 4g connection (using OpenVPN). The subnet was connected to Port 0. Port 1 had nothing connected.

I no longer have signal at the Digi unit, but have internet access over an ethernet connection, which I plan to connect into the Digi unit over port 1.

What do I need to change in the Digi config setup to change internet access (and therefore remote connection through VPN) from cellular connection to ethernet?

Cheers,

You will want to make sure the WR31 is in port isolate mode. You can see which driver is loaded with the ID command and see which driver is loaded (hub or vlan).

Then set Port 1 to DHCP and confirm that it is getting an IP address.

Change the default route to ETH 1 instead of PPP 1.

Turn on IPSEC on ETH 1.

That should be it.

Remember, if you turn on the firewall to add a rule for DHCP.
