RoHS and WEEE Directives

Digi International is committed to comply with the requirements of all applicable environmental legislation and regulations, including the restriction of hazardous substances in our products.

Digi is in compliance with the European Directive 2011/65/EU requirements for lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) for product noted as RoHS compliant. Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2) has refined requirements of the original directive and did replace 2002/95/EC on January 13,2013. Updated Declaration of Conformity (DOC) documents are available.

WEEE The European Union adopted Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) with their publication in the Official Journal of the European Union on February 13, 2003. WEEE is for the prevention, reuse, recycling and recovery to reduce the disposal of waste from electrical and electronic equipment. Requirements for WEEE went into effect on August 13, 2005. Current Requirements for the Revised WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU went into effect on July 4, 2012 and Digi is compliant with this directive. Digi's products are generally easy to separate through simple mechanical separation of the enclosure from the assembly for recycling as standard electronic waste.
