About AnywhereUSB USB encryption

The option to encrypt the USB traffic of an AnywhereUSB was introduced in the AnywhereUSB driver v3.71 and AnywhereUSB firmware version 1.80.  These versions (or newer) must be running to use USB encryption.  Please refer to the AnywhereUSB driver and release notes for more information.

Notes:

  • The following model AnywhereUSBs support USB encryption:  AnywhereUSB/2, AnywhereUSB/5 G2, AnywhereUSB/5 M, AnywhereUSB TS44, AnywhereUSB/14.  The legacy/1st generation AnywhereUSB/5 does NOT support USB encryption.
  • Currently, the encryption is only AES-128.  Other options, such as TLS 1.1 and 1.2, will likely be included in a newer driver and/or firmware release.
