"Without the ability to fully automate, utilities would have to monitor thousands of devices manually. For example, it would be unrealistic for human personnel to investigate every alert from each device every time an issue gets reported. However, with a management platform, human workers would only need to review the top 2% or 1% of critical issues depending on the devices and importance of the data, e.g., revenue-grade data. Leading management platforms can also auto-resolve issues like rebooting routers and reconstructing communications without human intervention."

Circuit Cellular shared the launch announcement of of Digi X-ON®, a complete solution for large deployments of industrial and agricultural devices. "Digi X-ON changes industrial IoT from a complex multi-vendor puzzle into a single, seamless solution that drives real business results,” said Mike Rohrmoser, VP of Product Management, OEM Solutions at Digi International. “Customers can now focus on achieving their business goals instead of wrestling with the complexities of technology integration, scaling from concept to production with remarkable simplicity, speed, and scalability.”

North American Clean Energy shared Digi's announcement of the complete Digi X-ON® solution for digitial transformation. "For example, a lead customer, Fever Tags, empowers ranchers, feedlots and dairies to take a proactive and innovative approach to animal health, enabling early detection of illness, and allowing for timely intervention to reduce extensive antibiotic treatments, prevent death loss and disease spread. This not only improves animal welfare but also contributes to the animal’s continued weight gain and a more sustainable and responsible approach to livestock management."

Global Ag Tech Initiative shared the announcement of the launch of Digi X-ON®, a complete solution for large networks of connected devices. Twin Cities Business magazine covered the announcement of the 2024 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, focusing on the six from Minnesota — including Ron Konezny, Digi President and CEO. "EY unveiled the winners at a ceremony at the Fillmore in Minneapolis on Thursday. The awardees were selected 'based on their demonstration of long-term value through entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth and impact, among other core contributions and attributes,' EY officials said in a statement."

Go Photonics listed the finalists in the 2024 Best of Sensors Awards, to be announced at Sensors Converge in Santa Clara, June 24-26, 2024. The list includes Digi Connect® Sensor XRT-M with Digi Axess, in the Industrial and Manufacturing category.

IoT M2M Council provided some excellent coverage of the collaboration between Digi and Sparkfun, and how the expansion of these combined product lines provide a vast range of versatile options for embedded developers. "Each SparkFun device received a complete overhaul and modernisation so it supports the entire line of XBee through-hole modules. Power supplies have been updated for cellular support."

Additionally, the article quoted Bob Blumenscheid, Digi's product marketing manager for the OEM division. “The boards are very inexpensive,” said Blumenscheid. “We found enterprise companies were going to them for proofs of concept."

IoT M2M Council covered the new Digi ConnectCore® MP25 "IoT connectivity specialist Digi International has announced a new module providing highly reliable wireless connectivity and time-sensitive networking (TSN) designed for smart portable devices and Industry 4.0. The Digi ConnectCore MP25 system-on-module (SOM) features AI and machine learning capabilities, with an integrated neural processing unit and image signal processor."

IoT Evolution World announced the winners of the 2024 EMC Industrial IoT Product of the Year Awards, including Digi IX40, Digi's 5G edge computing industrial IoT cellular router solution, purpose-built for Industry 4.0.

Embedded Computing Design provided a description of each of the 2024 Embedded World Best in Show nominees, including Digi ConnecCore® MP25, a versatile and secure wireless system-on-module designed for industrial applications and smart connected devices.

IoT Evolution World reported on the collaboration between Digi and Telit Cinterion. "Telit Cinterion’s 5G RedCap M.2 card, the FN920C04, is officially being integrated into Digi International’s IX20 industrial router and its EX15 enterprise router. MarketScale interview Curt Ahart of Digi at DISTRIBUTECH 2024 about private cellular networks, and why utilities are turning to them to enhance their network operations. Ahart provided some key insights. "The primary reason they’re going to private networks is reliability, security, and just having that real-time visibility into their grid. The thing about the private network is they control the SIMs, so really to have any access onto their network it would have to be provided by a SIM and any type of device, and they have complete control over that."

IoT IT News covered the Telit Cinterion announcement of the integration of its innovative 5G RedCap M.2 card, known as the FN920C04, into both Digi International’s Digi IX20 industrial router and Digi EX15 enterprise router.
