Connection List vs. Discovery List, in the AnywhereUSB Configuration Utility

What is the difference between the Connection List and the Discovery List, in the AnywhereUSB Configuration Utility?

The Connection List tells the host computer which AnywhereUSB it should attempt to connect to, based on the IP address of the AnywhereUSB (and the Group number, if it's a Multi-Host capable AnywhereUSB).  The Connection List is mandatory for an AnywhereUSB to be connected to a host computer. When you select an AnywhereUSB and click the Connect button, it adds that AnywhereUSB's IP address to the Connection List. Similarly, if you select an AnywhereUSB and you click the Disconnect button, it removes that AnywhereUSB's IP address from the Connection List.  If the AnywhereUSB is Multi-Host capable, the currently configured Group number will be show in parenthesis immediately after the IP address.

Note:  Multiple AnywhereUSBs may be connected to the same host computer at the same time.

The Discovery List is specific to AnywhereUSBs being discovered. AnywhereUSBs that are on the same subnet as the host computer normally do not need to be added to the Discovery List since they should be discovered automatically. The Discovery List should only be used when an AnywhereUSB cannot be discovered.

Note:  It's possible (and OK) to connect a host computer to an AnywhereUSB without necessarily discovering it.  Simply add the appropriate IP address (and Group number, if applicable) to the Connection List.
