Cannot login to Digi Axess account from smart phone with facial recognition.

If you are presented with the issue of your smart phone attempting to log you into Digi Axess via facial recognition (Such as Apples Face ID https://support.apple.com/en-us/102854) and it is failing immediately upon opening the app, this is a simple (in hindsight) workaround to facilitate being prompted instead for the password:

 

1. Point the phone >= 75 degrees away from your face then proceed to open the app (Alternatively wear sun glasses, face mask or other method to obscure your face).

2. Keep the phone in this position until you are logged in.

This will then allow you to manually login as the phone simply cannot see you to attempt login with facial recognition. Once you are logged in you may then proceed to disable and re-enable facial recognition or biometric login:

1. Disable facial recognition (e.g. Apple Face ID) in the settings under Security
2. Log out of the app.
3. Log into the app.
4. Re-enable facial recognition (e.g. Apple Face ID) in the settings under Security

 

Hypothesized cause: Invalid cached information on the phone or server.
