This article will describe how to mount the Digi Connect ME or WiME onto a customers product with proper grounding. The following text below is Digi''''s best practice for grounding the ME or WiME.
1) It is recommended that you connect the tabs on the chassis to the ground plane. see picture 1-1
2) and connect the ME?s ground pin (pin number 16) directly to the logic ground plane. It is not recommended to place any components (capacitors, resisters, etc.) between the ground pin and the logic ground plane.
3) Connect the ME to the metal chassis of the host product enclosure (if applicable).
