Digi’s annual Wormburner event has long legs, with a history of over three decades and a long track record of giving to deserving charity organizations. And this year the event broke its previous record for funds raised, bringing in $61,500, all of which is distributed to our selected recipient organizations. Not only that, but this year was a record-breaking year for the number of teams playing and the number of volunteers as well.
Wormburner is a fantastic event, bringing together Digi employees as well as our key distribution partners, vendors, service suppliers, and event sponsors. It’s a great way to have fun while doing some good. And it’s one of the important ways we show our commitment each year to inclusion, diversity, and giving back. Read on to learn more about our three wonderful 2025 charity recipients and see some photo highlights of the event.
A Day on the Green

As in past years, we were hosted by Crystal Lake Golf Course in Lakeville, Minnesota. The day begins as we award representative checks to our charity recipients, totaling the amount raised so far. Then our train of golf carts scurries off to holes across the course, many with opportunities to try various challenges.
From prize drawings and contests to buying "mulligans" and the opportunity to get a hole in one, the entire day is designed to promote both fun and giving.
Here are a few of the activities designed to create excitement while increasing the proceeds for our selected charitable organizations:
- Putting green contest
- “Closest to the pin”
- Hole-in-one to win $30,000
- “On the green”
- Longest drive
- Longest putt
- Vote for the Roast (AI generated to roast Digi’s CEO or CFO)
- Raffles for prizes such as $1000, MN State Fair tickets, iPads, Playstations and more
Meet the 2025 Wormburner Fundraiser Recipients
Each year the Social & #DigiGiving team comes together to select, extraordinary charitable organizations. These organizations are dedicated to inclusion, driving positive change in our communities and creating meaningful opportunities to make a difference. Here are our three 2025 recipients.
Northside Achievement Zone
Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) is a long-standing community organization in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Based in the economically challenged North Minneapolis area, NAZ is dedicated to ending multi-generational poverty by building a culture of achievement ensuring low-income children of color and families have the support they need to graduate high school and succeed in college, career and life.
Through its Prenatal-to-Profession Pipleline, NAZ and its network of over 30 partner schools and community organizations deliver whole-family wraparound services, from prenatal support to college and career readiness. Families receive coaching, leadership training, and parenting education to foster stability and success at home.
You can learn more about NAZ at their Who We Are, What We Do, and Donate pages, as well as other informational pages on their site.
Cookie Cart
Cookie Cart is a long-standing organization in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, rooted in a rich 30+ year history. The organization is dedicated to empowering teens by teaching life, leadership and employment skills through hands-on, paid work in nonprofit bakery classrooms. Grounded in their mission to prepare youth with essential skills in a supportive and inclusive framework, Cookie Cart guides teens through a layered learning model — including Foundations, Leadership, Bright Futures, Customer Service, and Financial Literacy, helping them grow into tomorrow’s leaders
Driven by values like the potential of every young person, equity and opportunity, the power of relationships, and compassionate accountability, the organization fosters trusting environments where mistakes become learning opportunities and youth are supported with care and high expectations. With a vision of thriving communities where Cookie Cart alumni lead and succeed, the program not only readies hundreds of teens annually for the workforce — it also contributes to building strong, resilient communities for future generations.
You can read more about Cookie Cart on the About Cookie Cart page, as well as their Get Involved and Donate pages.
World Central Kitchen
World Central Kitchen (WCK) was born in 2010, when a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck near Port-au-Prince, Haiti, creating devastation and food shortages. Chef José Andrés wanted to make a difference. In the aftermath of that event, José began organizing efforts to provide nourishing, culturally appropriate meals to people in need, recognizing that “food is more than sustenance — it’s a plate of hope on our darkest days.”
Hurricanes, wildfires, tsunamis, and volcano eruptions took the team across the world, and they increased their knowledge and capacity with each crisis. Initially responding to just natural disasters, WCK quickly expanded the definition of disasters to which they respond, and today support people in war torn regions, refugees fleeing violence and poverty, and more.
You can learn more about World Central Kitchen on their website, including their volunteer and donate pages.
The Teams

We extend our heartfelt thank you to our extended Digi team, as well as our external sales and distribution partners and suppliers, who sponsor the event at various levels, and can even sponsor a specific hole on the green with some special visibility and recognition.

Big Thanks to Our Volunteers
If you have ever been on the organization committee for a major event, then you know that it takes months of advanced planning, organization, and recruitment of volunteers to ensure everything goes seamlessly.
And a large group of volunteers must come together on the day of the event to support the activities. In the case of our annual Wormburner event, this includes volunteers at the sign-in table, volunteers who run fundraising activities across the golf course, photographers, and even volunteers who provide support, food and beverages to the volunteers!
We are so proud of our organizers and volunteers who give their passion, their time and their effort to ensure a successful event, down to the last detail. Thank you to our amazing team!
