2025: A Year of Momentum, Milestones, and Meaningful IoT Impact

2025 will stand out as a year of dynamic growth, meaningful innovation, and real-world impact for Digi International. As we close another chapter in our company’s rich history — now 40 years strong — I’m both proud of what we’ve accomplished and energized by the opportunity ahead.

At the core of Digi’s mission is our commitment to delivering IoT solutions that are complete, secure, and built to scale. In 2025, this commitment was evident across product launches, customer engagement, channel expansion, and strategic growth initiatives. And Digi will continue driving toward simplifying our customer experience with building and deploying our solutions in 2026 and beyond.

Product Launches and Innovations in 2025

Driving broad solution innovation, we continued to expand our technology portfolio with offerings that simplify the complexity of connected device planning and deployment — from the Digi XBee® family celebrating over 25 million modules deployed across smart cities, renewables, agriculture, and industrial applications, to powerful new infrastructure management, cellular solutions and OEM platforms designed for end-to-end IoT deployments.

Here are highlights from some of our biggest announcements of the year:

  • SmartSense VoyageSmartSense VOYAGE: Launched in January, this comprehensive solution from SmartSense by Digi provides real-time visibility, control, and tracking of moving assets throughout the entire supply chain. The platform delivers continuous monitoring of both location and environmental conditions, addressing critical needs for retail, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and food service industries.
  • CM8100-10G-5G: In February, Opengear, a Digi Company, rolled out CM8100-10G-5G a new IT network management solution for operational efficiency with 5G connectivity and scalable out-of-band management.
  • Digi IX30 with Anterix Active: The Digi IX30 cellular router with Anterix Active launched in June, supporting secure communications in public and private LTE networks.
  • Digi X-ON®: In July, we launched Digi X-ON — a complete, end-to-end solution supporting secure, reliable and scalable networks built on the LoRaWAN® protocol. Digi X-ON development kits, produced by SparkFun, are available worldwide, providing businesses with everything they need to start building their IoT solutions.
  • Digi XBee for Wi-SUNDigi XBee for Wi-SUN® solution: In September, we launched Digi XBee for Wi-SUN  for global smart cities, utilities, industrial IoT and renewable energy applications — delivering easy to build, deploy and manage embedded connectivity for IoT networks at scale.
  • Digi Connect EZ4 WS: Also in September, we launched the new Digi Connect EZ 4 WS with PoE, our newest medical grade serial server. With full-solution support via Digi LifeCycle Assurance, Digi Connect EZ WS enables serial-over-Ethernet connectivity, facilitating the integration of patient device data into hospital EMRs and other downstream systems.
  • Digi IoT Application Framework: With the October announcement of the Digi IoT Application Framework, a complete edge-to-cloud embedded solution for connected product development, we helped customers accelerate time to value and reduce development friction, reinforcing our belief that connectivity alone isn’t enough — it needs to be seamlessly integrated into the product lifecycle.

Championing interoperability, cybersecurity and standards. Across multiple trade shows and conference stages — from Embedded World North America to IoT Solutions World Congress — Digi showcased how open frameworks, integrated solutions, advanced security monitoring and interoperable technologies support the mission critical goals of device manufacturers, systems integrators and customers alike.

Digi SOC 2 compliance imageOur efforts resonated beyond the lab and the showroom floor:

  • We strengthened our security posture industry-wide, achieving SOC 2 Type 2 compliance for Digi Remote Manager® and Genesis® as well as both SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 compliance for Opengear’s critical infrastructure solutions — building on SmartSense SOC 2 compliance in 2024 and reinforcing trust and operational confidence for our customers managing distributed networks.
  • We gave talks and webinars on the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and published a CRA white paper providing hands-on guidance for OEMs seeking to ensure the products they are developing meet these and other emerging cybersecurity regulations.
  • Digi was authorized as a CVE Numbering Authority (CNA) by the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE®) program, underscoring Digi’s dedication to cybersecurity excellence, proactive vulnerability management, and enhanced transparency within the IoT and embedded systems industries.
  • Ventus, a Digi International company, achieved PCI DSS 4.0.1 compliance this year for its fully-managed Network-as-a-Service (MNaaS) solution, which empowers FinTech organizations to operate with confidence in today’s evolving payment security landscape. Ventus' wired and wireless connectivity solutions are purpose-built to meet and exceed the latest standard from the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC), helping customers reduce compliance complexity, strengthen security posture, and accelerate innovation without compromising trust.

Across industry verticals and our solutions portfolio, customer feedback reinforced a clear message: simplicity, reliability, and service matter just as much as technology. This focus is central to how we design, deploy, and support complete IoT solutions — and it’s reflected in both our performance metrics and the voices of our customers.

In 2025, our Net Promoter Score (NPS) and Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) results once again affirmed the strength of our customer relationships. These scores aren’t just metrics we report; they are tools we actively use to improve how we serve customers at every stage of their journey.

Channel Expansion

In 2025, we made meaningful progress in expanding and strengthening Digi’s global channel ecosystem — an essential lever in scaling our solutions and reaching customers across the globe, where and how they want to engage.

Distribution warehouseA key part of this momentum was the addition of new channel leadership, bringing renewed focus, energy, and alignment across our go-to-market strategy. Under this leadership, we sharpened our approach to distributor engagement, enablement, and collaboration, helping drive increased adoption of Digi solutions across regions and vertical markets.

We also welcomed new distributors across Digi’s business units, including Ingram Micro in Spain, SE Spezial-Electronic in EMEA, ACTRON in Germany, and Farnell, an Avnet company, in the UK — expanding our reach in cellular, embedded, infrastructure, and IoT solutions. These additions enhance our ability to support customers locally while maintaining the consistency, security, and quality they expect from Digi — whether they are deploying a single application or scaling globally.

As IoT solutions continue to evolve from individual devices to integrated platforms, a strong channel is more important than ever. Our channel organizations play a critical role in helping customers plan, deploy, and manage connected solutions, and we are committed to investing in programs, tools, and relationships that enable shared success, and we applauded their dedication and customer service with our annual Global Channel Awards.

Looking ahead, we see our channel as a growth multiplier — one that will continue to amplify Digi’s impact as we deliver complete, secure, and scalable solutions worldwide.

2025 also underscored the strength of our recurring revenue model and strategic execution. We reported strong quarterly performance throughout the year, delivered continued ARR growth, and ended the fiscal year with momentum as customers increasingly adopt solutions that go beyond traditional hardware.

In addition, the acquisition of Jolt Software expanded our SmartSense automation solutions for retail, pharmaceutical and supply chain operations, deepening our capabilities in operational intelligence across key verticals.

Looking Ahead: 2026 and Beyond

As we turn the page to 2026, our strategic priorities remain clear — and they are grounded in what our customers and partners tell us matters most.

  • Simplify IoT at every step. Our customers want less complexity and more certainty. In the year ahead, we will continue investing in solutions that reduce implementation friction, make it easier to engage with Digi sales and support teams, and simplify how customers plan, deploy, and scale their IoT solutions. From first conversation through long-term operation, our goal is to make working with Digi straightforward, responsive, and effective.
  • Advance intelligence at the edge. We see tremendous opportunity in tiny language models and edge-based AI, enabling faster decision-making, reduced latency, and greater autonomy in connected systems. By bringing intelligence closer to where data is generated, Digi will help customers unlock new use cases while maintaining efficiency, reliability, and control.
  • Reinforce secure, scalable architectures. Security is non-negotiable. Our achievement of SOC 2 Type 2 compliance underscores our commitment to protecting customer data and operations. Looking ahead, we will continue to embed security across all Digi product lines, extending secure device identity, fleet management, and cloud integrations as foundational elements of every solution we deliver.
  • Digi eSIM form factorsSimplify global connectivity. With the introduction of Digi eSIM, we are making it easier for customers to deploy and manage devices across regions with greater flexibility and control. This is another step toward removing barriers that slow IoT adoption to help customers build and scale with confidence.
  • Evolve alongside our customers’ business models. The industry continues to move from point connectivity to comprehensive, subscription-oriented solutions. Digi is well positioned to support this shift with integrated offerings that align technology, services, and outcomes — helping customers move from pilot projects to production deployments more efficiently.
  • Empower ecosystem and channel growth. Our channel distributors remain a critical extension of Digi’s reach and expertise. We are deeply committed to supporting our channel partners with the tools, programs, and collaboration they need to succeed — ensuring customers receive consistent, high-quality experiences wherever and however they engage with Digi.

As we look to the future, our focus remains steady: deliver complete, secure, and scalable IoT solutions that remove complexity, build trust, and create lasting value for our customers and partners.
