AES Encryption

Digi's XTend radio has the ability to use 256-bit AES encryption to encrypt and decrypt data that is transmitted over the air. In some applications, such as those sending financial information or other sensitive data, it is often desirable to protect the transmitted data from eavesdropping. While all Digi radios come with some built in features to enhance security, the 256-bit AES encryption incorporated into the XTend offers over 1.17 trillion possible keys for maximum data protection. Digi has recently received FIPS-197 certification on the 256-bit AES algorithm making it easier to deploy the radios in government applications or those situations requiring a certified encryption algorithm.
