Port Buffering Configurations for the Portserver CM

 

 

Set the following basic parameters and values in the /etc/portslave/pslave.conf file.

  • To Save data to a syslog server.
    • conf.syslog [Syslog_server_IP_address]

       

    • conf.facility [0 to 7]

       

    • all.syslog_level [0 to 7]

       

    • all.console_level [0 to 7] (optional)

       

  • To save Buffered data locally.
    • all.data_buffering 0 [Change to a number between 1 - 1024]

       

    • Data is saved to /var/run/DB/ttyS##.data files.

       

  • Forwarding Data Buffering to a syslog server.
    • conf.syslog [Syslog_server_IP_address]

       

    • conf.facility [0 to 7] (syslog events)

       

    • conf.DB_facility [0 to 7] (data)

       

    • all.syslog_buffering 0 [40 to 255 recomended, anything over 255 and you should redirect to an NFS mounted system]

       

    • all.syslog_level [5 to 7]

       

    • all.data_buffering 0 [Change to a number between 1 - 1024]

       

  • Forwarding Data Buffering to an NFS mounted system.
    • all.data_buffering 0 [Change to a number between 1 - 1024]

       

    • conf.nfs_data_buffering [NFS_server_IP]:[NFS_server_export_dir]
