Digi TransPort Primary and Secondary Antenna Recommendations for 3G and 4G
- Digi TransPort 3G routers (with the exception of the WR11 model) use the Primary antenna on send and receive frequencies; while the Secondary (or AUX) antenna is receive only. So, while we strongly recommend using both antennas, if only one antenna is used it must be on the Primary connector (as is done on the WR11).
- Digi TransPort 4G LTE routers use both antennas on send and receive. We only support using two antennas for LTE.
- Having two SIM slots will have no impact on whether or not two cellular antennas are needed. The active SIM will use the same antenna(s).
It is important to note, that Digi TransPort routers with two SIM slots are designed for cellular fail over. This means only one SIM can be actively in use.
