HOW TO: Deactivate Modem COM Port Scanning in Microsoft Windows
By default COM ports are scanned in Microsoft Windows for connected modems. A side effect of this action can lead to the port baud rate to changing to 1200 baud. To turn off this feature, navigate to Device Manager > Multi-port serial adapters
, expand the option. Right-click
on the desired Digi device entry and select Properties.
Next click on the Advanced
tab, followed by the Properties...
Select the Advanced
tab, click on the desired COM port
and select the Do Not Scan Modems on Boot option.
The Copy Settings... option can be used to copy the settings to other COM ports:
