What is included with Digi Foundations?

Can I add Digi Foundations to products I’ve already purchased?

Yes! You can purchase the Digi Foundations add-on package to a previous product purchase, as long as you order Digi Foundations within one year of your original product purchase.

How do I order Digi Foundations?

You may order Digi Foundations over the phone by calling 1-877-912-3444, or from any Digi-authorized reseller. To find a reseller please visit the how to buy page.

Do I need Digi Foundations to receive support for my Digi product?

No. All Digi products come with our standard Base Support. Digi Foundations adds the premium features of Expert Support. You can compare the features on our support page.

Do I need to use Digi Remote Manager (DRM) to get the Expert Support and Warranty features?

DRM is an integral part of the Digi Foundations package. You are not required to use it to manage your devices, but you must register your devices in DRM to receive the support features.

What is a Limited Lifetime Warranty?

All Digi International Inc. routers automatically come with a standard three year hardware warranty. The limited lifetime warranty will provide replacement with a like or new product for five years from the date of purchase, if the device is under a continuous Digi Foundations subscription. After five years from the purchase date, the warranty value will revert to a 40 percent credit off the MSRP of an equivalent product or toward the purchase of a new or similar product when purchased directly from Digi as part of warranty.

What happens if I don’t renew the Digi Foundations subscription after the first year?

If you decide not to continue your subscription the support and warranty will revert to the standard offering of three years warranty and Base Support.

Can I renew Digi Foundations if the original subscription expired?

You have 30 days after your subscription expires to renew the service. After 30 days the device will revert to the standard offering of three years warranty and Base Support.

I already have a DRM subscription; can I upgrade it to Digi Foundations when it expires?

Yes, if your device has been under a continuous DRM subscription since it was purchased. You will just need to order the Digi Foundations SKU when you renew.

How do I connect to AWS, Azure or Google?

Digi provides two methods for getting your data into your preferred cloud environment.

  1. Digi provides MQTT Python libraries tailored to each cloud platform. This enables customers to develop business logic at the edge and connect devices directly to their preferred cloud platform. Digi Remote Manager can manage the deployment of these libraries, and associated edge logic, to devices.
  2. DRM includes a feature called Push Monitors that enables customers to connect DRM directly to their preferred cloud platform and forward data based on configurable rules.

How do I register my devices in DRM?

The easiest way to register your devices is by using the DRM mobile application, available in the Apple App Store or on Google Play. The app will allow you to register your devices securely by scanning a label on the package or the device itself. If you have a large number of devices that you would like to register (i.e. greater than 100), contact Digi Technical Support to obtain a list of devices, along with their unique install codes. You can use this list to register your devices in bulk.
